Get Involved
Are you tempted to hide your faith? To quote The Apostle Paul, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the [non-Jewish]" (Romans 1:16). Therefore, we can accept with confidence the command of Jesus to "make disciples of all nations" and to be his "witnesses to the end of the earth" (Matt.28:19; Acts 1:8).

Of course, our mission is not to shove our faith down anyone's throat. On the contrary, we witness our faith through acts of service in order to mimic the humility that Jesus showed mankind: "But whoever would be great among you must be your servant....For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve" (Mark 10:43-45). As a result, we do not proclaim ourselves, "but Jesus as Lord, with ourselves as servants for Jesus' sake" (2 Cor. 4:5).

Perhaps you wonder if one person can really make a difference. We believe that you are created by Him for a specific and lasting contribution to the advancement of His perfect love. Do you feel empty chasing happiness? Join us: "For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: ...that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him who, for their sake, died and was raised" (2 Cor.5:15).

Partnership Missions

Are you ready for an adventure?  Grab your tools!  Partnership Missions is a designated fund at First Baptist Bethalto wherein our church members are enabled to go on construction missions and relief missions across the country.  Whether in the wake of a natural disaster or in the shadow of poverty, our church members stand ready to roll up their sleeves and lend a helping hand.  Keep tabs on our website for upcoming missions.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas ChildEach November, First Baptist Bethalto serves as a regional collection and distribution center for Operation Christmas Child. In cooperation with Samaritan's Purse International Relief, Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas-Jesus Christ.

The Cooperative Program

When you give to First Baptist Bethalto, you are automatically investing in a global network that shares the message of Jesus. One of the great benefits of joining the Southern Baptist Convention is the ability for us to pool our vast resources.  With 42,000 churches around the world, our financial unity enables us to sponsor 15,000 seminary students and 10,800 missionaries.  At the same time, this network supports over 1,000 churches in Illinois, in addition to disaster-relief missions across our nation. This network is known as The Cooperative Program (C.P.).
